ThunderCats 1 page 9 cols by Kat-Nicholson ThunderCats 1 page 9 cols by Kat-Nicholson
...Just... one.. more ... day!
New UK Thundercats comic is out tomorrow! ^_^

Another page I was permitted to sneak out early! - No prizes for guessing the contents of the speech balloons on this one! ;)

Page 1:

Page 2:

I read some comments where people were griping that these two preview pages didn't show much in the way of story, and well, there's a reason for that! it's only 2 pages out of a 13 page strip, with an on-going continuity from one week to the next... - The two pages I picked were deliberately ones that looked exciting but didn't give too much away... - I didn't want to give out any spoilers! o.O

Anyway, you can now see more preview pages (lettered and everything!) on~lewstringer's Blog: [link]

Line Art: Cosmo White
Colours: Kat Nicholson

I own all the Thunder cats Dvd's, the old ones and started to watch the new ones with a closed mind and was blown away by the story arc, the artwork, the blend of CG and drawn animation and new back story and love triangle trist.. then they stopped.

I cant find them on DVD as promised the book of omens DVD title never materialised.  But great that you are working on a comic of them and awesome art work..  Your work reminds me of Jack Lawerence aka Jackademus who, is working on the new TMNT comic go check him out.!

Keep up the great work :)

Tell me about it, i was gutted when they cancled the show! :(
Thank's for the suggestion, I already know Jack, i first worked with him back in 2006! I don't think he's drawing on tmnt anymore tho, CosmoW (who's beautiful artwork graces the thundercats page above, I just coloured it!) was also working on that title till recently too.

Yeah it ended on what lies above pt2, I managed to find all three DVD's on play.com  cant wait to save up and get them. I will have a look at CosmoW's work.

Jacks drawing the new ones now that are on nickelodeon, but I am watching them on watchcartoononline.com/ that and Kung Fu Panda legends of awesomeness.

Great how you get that kind of work, I could draw them with practice but not like you guys.!

:) awesome work though

Still my favourite job ever was colouring an artist called Roberto Corona on Sonic. I still can't believe I got paid for doing it - the kind of job that makes working a pleasure. Wish I had some of the pages.

it's amazing the difference it makes, isn't it? Colouring an artist work who's put pride into their work and taken their time and made an effort is usually a joy and makes our jobs a lot easier!
I always say "be nice to your colourist" ... not only do they hold a lot of sway over how your work will look when finally printed, but they probably look at your lines closer than YOU do, so they know ALL yer mistakes! ;) lol

I always feel if I'm serving the artist well and bringing something extra out of the art, then I've done a good job. You've definitely done that here. People I think sometimes forget how much the colourist and letterer bring to the table.
