A couple of W.I.P snapshots of a 3D piece that I actually started back in 2002, but has been sat unfinished in my studio until last Friday. It started out as a sculpt for college, of my Alien-warrior girl, Ash; [link]
but since I missed the deadline on the project I had little enthusiasm to finish the sculpt, so over the years I've added/changed bits a little, until Friday I suddenly got an urge to sculpt and the inspiration I needed to get the bulk of this dragon guy made up ... he's very loosely based on my were-dragon Gavyn, but this has become an exercise in construction/sculpting practice more than character or anatomy.... maybe I'll finish it someday, but sculpting anything takes me so damn long! x.X
I'm very much feeling my way in the dark with sculpting, so if anyone has any hints or tips I'll gladly heed them!
(and yes, for the geeks who've spotted it, that is - or at least will be, a Klingon-style bat'leth he's holding once it's done!)
